In-house training

About Us

Our name originally stood for Crayke, Raskelf, Easingwold, Stillington, Tollerton and Alne Dog Training Club. However, we have since shortened the name to CRESTA and cover an area including York, Thirsk, and Pickering. The trainers that we use hold a minimum of 20 years of experience training and owning dogs. This sits in accordance with the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers (BIPDT), offering you complete peace of mind.

We measure each dog’s success using our own in-house training scheme. Using bronze, silver and gold, you will be able to see how well your dog is doing at each aspect of training. We cover a wide range of areas, including agility and obedience.

As a result of our training, some locals dogs have been able to work as assistance dogs.

Benefits of Obedience Training

All dog owners know what its like to raise a puppy. Despite being hard work at times, the rewards you receive at the end of it are all worthwhile. Joining a dog training club can help to increase the positives, showing you how to make the most of your carefully crafted relationship.

One of the largest positives is the increase in control you can achieve. Knowing how to command your dog successfully will keep you both safe. For example, if your dog ends up in a dangerous position, basic commands can be exactly what you need to save their life.

Although, it is not all about you. Spending time training your dog helps you to understand their needs and personality better. Each breed and puppy have their own quirks, and understanding these fully can give you a clearer insight into who they are.

Finally, obedience training keeps your furry friends entertained. Dogs can easily become bored, but if they know they have an exciting class to go to they can soon perk up.

Covering the York area

Thirsk and the Surrounding Area

The small town of Thirsk is located in North Yorkshire and is thought to have a population of around 5,000. It is well-known as being the birthplace of Thomas Lord and the home of animal lover James Herriot.

There are plenty of places to visit while in the area, including the Zillah Bell Galleries, Monk Park Farm, and Thirsk Museum. Our classes are held a short 20-minute drive away, down the A19 towards York.
